John Young has Telepathy. He is very good, highly trained at it. In his canon, this means he can read people's thoughts. In fact, it happens kind of naturally for him to pick up surface level thoughts without even trying sometimes. He can also read deeper than that, but I won't have him do that unless we work it out ahead of time/you tell me you want him to. If he is touching someone, John can even see their memories to the extent that he can feel what they were feeling at the time, but this is nothing that he would do without someone's permission so we can work that out ICly/OOCly if it ever comes up.

Obviously, if your character is a telepath or has mental blocks going on, we can work out whether he'd be able to read anything or not. John might notice if he can't pick up anything and know they have telepathic/blocking stuff going on, but I won't have him read anything even basic surface thoughts without your permission. In turn, John's mind is pretty much a giant wall. The most powerful telepath in his canon wasn't really able to get past certain walls inside of him so he is very trained in keeping people out of his own head too.
